Works in Progress

I have been working towards getting a few novels published through a traditional publisher.  None of this is cover art, more like a “feel” for the book itself.

Working Title: Crowned Prince

Love is supposed to conquer all, but for Prince Eli, it could lead to civil war.

The king’s health is failing, the Dragon God hasn’t blessed an heir to the throne, and the nobility is divided. Prince Eli will do whatever it takes to keep his kingdom from falling into civil war, even if it means marrying a powerful duchess to guarantee his ascension to the throne. But when a diplomatic mission introduces him to Auburn, Prince Eli’s long-dormant passions are ignited, and he finds himself torn between love and duty.

Auburn longs for a family and child of her own, but as a slave, she can have neither. When Eli visits her master, Auburn will do what she must to convince him to take her back to his kingdom where slavery is forbidden. She never bargained on falling in love with Eli, and now she risks losing her chance to have a family and home of her own.

Eli must prove to Auburn that she can trust him with her heart, but enemies of the Dragon God will stop at nothing to destroy Prince Eli’s kingdom. As old secrets are revealed, Eli must choose between his kingdom and the woman he loves.

Status: I have finished the story and all the beta reader rewrites, as well as a polishing rewrite. I am working on finding an artist for cover art, and I plan to self-publish by the end of June 2018.

Working Title: Knight of Valor

Discovering that her master plans to sacrifice her in a dark ritual, Brelynn flees and arranges to trade her secrets of sorcery to Aerius’s king in return for asylum in the holy city. Her master wants her back and unleashes his undead armies to retrieve her.  Brelynn’s only chance to reach Aerius is the famed lich slayer Sir Marcus Valerian, a devout Paladin that suspects her of darker intentions. But Marcus swore to obey his king, and he fights beside her as they journey to Aerius.

As they travel together, they feel things neither expected. Brelynn tries to harden her heart, believing Marcus could never love a former servant of darkness. Marcus struggles to reconcile the teachings of his order with his feelings for her.

Determined to capture her and complete the ritual, Brelynn’s master launches a devastating assault that threatens to destroy Marcus and Brelynn’s love and devour their souls.

Status: Finished a late-stage revision. Need to do a final polishing revision.

Working Title: A Knight’s Love

Famine. Demons. A traitor. Even a Knight of Valor has limits, and as Sir York struggles to survive another demon attack, a mysterious and alluring sorceress beats back the demons and saves his life. When she offers to help him destroy the demons in exchange for citizenship in distant Tamryn, Sir York agrees, but then he never expected to fall in love with the fiery sorceress. Now he has to convince her to stay and take the ultimate chance on something more dangerous than demons. Love.

Once shunned for her magical abilities, Tessa helps York in return for a chance at a new beginning. Sir York may be a handsome, confidant, and capable man, but she’s had enough of those and has no intention of losing her heart to him. But as the darkness from ages past threatens Sir York and the people of Marren, Tessa has to decide if she’s willing to risk everything and take a chance on love.

Status: Finished the second draft. Taking time away before coming back to revise it.

Working Title: Pirate Captain’s Daughter

Summary: After her parents’ disastrous marriage, Sapphire has sworn off matrimony. Her fortune makes a tempting target, and when her grandfather tries to force her into marriage, Sapphire looks to Sir Matthias for a platonic marriage. As Matthias shows Sapphire just how much more could be between them, helping unlock a sensuality she didn’t know she was capable of, her family’s darkest secrets come to light and threaten to destroy Sapphire and unleash an ancient evil.

Status: Finished the first draft and feel like the book is missing a lot. Need to rethink it.

Working Title: How to Love a Duchess

Summary: This took a significant turn. Roarke became Callen, a man returning home from war after his brother was murdered and really seeing it for the first time. After numerous brushes with a grisly death, Callen no longer has time for pretenses or foolish social niceities. But he may be the only man bold enough and brave enough to fight for Lady Daniella’s heart. But after all she’s been through, can she trust anyone enough to set aside her ice queen persona and let herself love?

Still working on plotting a different novel with Roark, one of the few men who survived defying the undead Knight that was the gatekeeper for the lich.

Status: Working on second draft.
